BLACKSTONE VALLEY TOURISM COUNCIL HELPS TO
“WIPE OUT WIRELESS WASTE” CELL PHONE RECYCLING PROGRAM
Cell phone recycling program’s net proceeds benefit Keep Blackstone Valley Beautiful

Keep Blackstone Valley Beautiful, a program of the Blackstone Valley Tourism Council, announces Wipe Out Wireless Waste, a cell phone recycling program, at various locations in all nine cities and towns throughout the Blackstone Valley.

“Recycling cell phones ensures us that toxic materials don’t end up in our landfills,” said Kristin Zawistowski, Keep Blackstone Valley Beautiful program coordinator and AmeriCorps*VISTA member. “Also, for every phone donated, Keep Blackstone Valley Beautiful will receive a portion of the net proceeds that can be used for future programs.”

Wipe Out Wireless Waste is a national program that is part of Keep America Beautiful’s Great American Cleanup and is sponsored by Sprint Nextel and ReCellular. The program helps generate money for local communities while safely recycling cell phones.

Postage paid envelopes to mail in old cell phones include detailed instructions and are available at the following locations. Hours may vary.
